Since we were able to save by staying in an AirBnb for our first few nights in Ho Chi Minh City, I chose to splurge on our last 2 nights at the 5-star Hotel Des Arts Saigon. I booked a room via Agoda which has really good rates online.
This was my way of celebrating my birthday on the the tail end of the week: in the comfort of a king-sized bed with all the ones that mattered to me the most. We took the opportunity to snooze for as long as we could with snuggles and kisses. Oh, what joy!
Look at that framed vintage map. Ooooh I wanted itttt!
Yes, she is a musical genius playing Beethoven and Mozart at age 1. Just kidding!
If you want to see a really spectacular view of Ho Chi Minh, head up to the pool on the top floor of the hotel. Can you see the smog? Remember to bring a mask if you plan to be walking the streets of Saigon because pollution is a real concern from all the motorists. Apparently, Ho Chi Minh is the Motorcycle Capital of The World!
My 8 year old son wanted to try exercising but since he had no rubber shoes, I asked him to get out of the machine pronto. I would’ve loved to practice yoga and sweat here but then I didn’t have anyone to watch the kids. Hotels really need to have playgrounds right next to spas and gyms so parents can do some adult activity too!
The Pho in the buffet was phenomenal! Well, anywhere in Vietnam I would say the Pho is fantastic!
I binged on fresh fruits like my all-time favorite rambutan! Platefuls of it went down my happy tummy. Kids love it, too!
We sampled a variety of local Vietnamese desserts as well.
Oh you must try their chewy chocolate chip cookies! DELICIOUS!
Their majestic lobby with high ceiling and large windows bring in lots of natural light. My little girl was so attracted to the horses, can you see? She was born in the year of the horse 🙂
Do consider booking in this very chic, luxurious hotel next time you plan on visiting Ho Chi Minh (Saigon). I know I will want to go back when I return to Vietnam!
